In August 2024, the city of Spearfish hosted an open house to gather additional public input and feedback around potential short-term rental regulation, as well as offered an online survey for community members to take, and the survey results are available by CLICKING HERE.
City staff will present the survey results at the October 16th, 2024, City Council Study Session starting at 4:15 PM in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The Short-Term Rental Task Force will convene at the end of October, and proposed regulations will be submitted to the City Council for consideration. The process will involve an initial review at a study session, followed by a first and second reading during subsequent city council meetings, including public hearings, before formal adoption.
