Programming could be at risk for South Dakota Public Broadcasting with Governor Noem’s proposed budget cut. That’s according to Ryan Howlett with South Dakota Public Broadcasting, who says high school sports coverage would definitely be lost as well as putting emergency weather alerts at risk. Noem proposed a three-point-six million dollar reduction in funding for South Dakota Public Broadcasting on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 during her, likely last, budget address. The five-point-five million dollars South Dakota Public Broadcasting is now expected to receive in state funding for next year is less than half of the South Dakota Public Broadcasting budget of 12 million dollars.
