Claysen Davis has been with KDSJ since 2023 and started as a board operator for sports and remote broadcasts during his senior year at Black Hills State University. He interned at KDSJ in the second semester of his senior year, conducting interviews and assisting in daily operations. After graduation, Claysen stayed in Spearfish to continue his growth in the broadcasting business with KDSJ.
Claysen updates the KDSJ-TV (YouTube) and Facebook pages by providing news and sports content for the station. He is in charge of operating sports live streams (KDSJ-TV, Facebook, and kdsj980.com) and also continues to conduct sports interviews and assist with daily operations.
Claysen is from the small town of Cody, Nebraska, where he grew up on the family ranch. He loves working on the ranch and helps out any time he can. The ranch is where Claysen developed a strong work ethic and the importance of taking pride in your work. Claysen enjoys the work in radio as “every day could be something different,” and it is the one job he found that relates to the diversity of tasks someone can do in a day, much like the ranch. He has two brothers, older brother Brody and younger brother Gage.
