Ryan Reider is originally from Woonsocket, South Dakota, and got his start in radio at KDSJ as a part-time announcer during his junior year at Spearfish High School in May 1994. In December 1995, he left KDSJ and moved to Wessington Springs, South Dakota, with his parents. In April 1996, he began as a part-time announcer at KORN/KQRN in Mitchell, South Dakota, where he was shortly promoted to KQRN’s Program Director. In January 2000, he moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and held positions in retail management, accounting, customer service and as an administrative assistant. In May 2005, looking to get back to his radio roots, he rejoined the KDSJ staff as Program Director. Ryan’s middle name is Ray and his family’s nickname for him is “Raymond.” Ryan has been described as a “bookworm,” “snobby film buff” and “computer nerd.” He agrees with all of those. He is the proud “dad” of a cat named Joker that he adopted from the Western Hills Humane Society in Spearfish. He continues Al Decker’s Worst of the Week jokes in the morning that either make you laugh, or you roll your eyes, shake your head and say…WOW!…
